About the Role

The Emmanuel Ivorgba Center is in search of an experienced Volunteer Grant Manager, Fundraiser, Grant writer and networking specialist to help research and identify funding, networking and partnership opportunities for the Center . The ideal candidate should be an experienced professional, responsible for the fulfillment of grant support requests via compelling proposals, as well as providing strategic recommendations for the successful execution of grant proposals that are well-aligned with funder/donor guidelines. This is a remote position which will be home based/work from home in irrespective of time zones differences. The primary objective is to meet annual and campaign fundraising goals by working with Center staff to develop and execute a portfolio of new, renewable and upgradeable institutional donors.

Requirements

As a nonprofit volunteer grant manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the grant application process, managing relationships with funding organizations, and ensuring compliance with grant requirements. Specific requirements include:

  • Knowledge of Grant Processes: Familiarity with grant application processes, including researching funding opportunities, writing proposals, and managing reporting requirements.

  • Understanding of Nonprofit Sector: Knowledge of the nonprofit sector, including its unique challenges, funding sources, and compliance regulations.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for writing compelling grant proposals, negotiating with funders, and maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders.

  • Research Skills: Ability to identify potential grant opportunities that align with the organization's mission and programs and conduct thorough research to gather relevant information.

  • Grant Writing Skills: Proficiency in writing clear, concise, and persuasive grant proposals that effectively communicate the organization's goals, objectives, and impact.

  • Project Management: Strong organizational and project management skills to effectively manage multiple grant applications, deadlines, and reporting requirements.

  • Financial Acumen: Basic understanding of budgeting and financial management to develop accurate project budgets, monitor expenditures, and ensure compliance with grant financial reporting requirements.

  • Relationship Building: Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with funding organizations, including cultivating partnerships, networking, and stewarding existing donors.

  • Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail to review grant applications, reports, and other documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with grant guidelines.

  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues, volunteers, and board members to gather information, coordinate efforts, and ensure alignment between grant-funded projects and the organization's mission.

  • Ethical Standards: Commitment to upholding high ethical standards, including confidentiality, integrity, and compliance with grant regulations and reporting requirements.
