LIVELIHOOD SKILLS DEVELOPMENT

The Emmanuel Ivorgba Center’s Livelihood Skills Development Program for Women and Youth is a comprehensive initiative designed to empower vulnerable populations with the practical skills and knowledge necessary for economic independence and community development. Recognizing the vital role women and youth play in societal progress, the program offers tailored training in various hands-on trades and entrepreneurial skills, including tailoring, farming, craft-making, digital literacy, and small business management.

The program begins with skills assessment and personalized training plans to address participants’ specific interests and local market needs. Hands-on workshops, mentorship, and practical demonstrations ensure participants gain real-world experience. Emphasis is placed on developing both technical expertise and soft skills such as leadership, financial literacy, and communication to enhance their confidence and employability. A key component of the program is its focus on entrepreneurship. Participants are guided through the process of developing business ideas, creating business plans, and accessing microfinance or seed funding to start or expand their ventures. The Center also facilitates linkages to local markets, cooperatives, and partners to ensure sustainable income opportunities.

The Livelihood Skills Development Program promotes inclusivity by ensuring women and youth from diverse backgrounds, including marginalized groups, have equal access to training and resources. It also incorporates ongoing mentorship and post-training support, including savings groups, peer networks, and refresher courses, to foster long-term success. The program aims to transform participants from beneficiaries into active contributors to their local economies. By equipping women and youth with market-relevant skills and fostering entrepreneurship, the Emmanuel Ivorgba Center’s Livelihood Skills Development Program contributes to poverty reduction, gender equality, and community resilience, creating a ripple effect of positive change that benefits entire communities.
