The Ivorgba Center Empowers Young People in Sierra Leone


The Emmanuel Ivorgba Center, with support from Rotary Club for Global Action, has held the first edition of the Young Business Leadership Award (YBL) empowering three (3) distinguished young Sierra Leoneans. The Award Ceremony was hosted by Sierra Leone Chapter of The Emmanuel Ivorgba Center in collaboration with Fottal Organization. The Award Ceremony was held on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at the Red Cross Society Hall, Makeni, Bombali District, 54 Vincent Kanu Road (formerly Station Road).

Certificates and cash awards were presented to the following winners of the Young Business Leaders Awards in Sierra Leone

  1. Kadiatu Kamara- Female

  2. Cherno Amadu Sesay- Male

  3. Isatu Turay- Female

 


The Awards Ceremony was conducted by Mr. Amadu Wurie Jalloh, Country Director, The Emmanuel Ivorgba Foundation-Sierra Leone. Other dignitaries and organizations that witnessed the Awards ceremony included:

  1. His worship the Mayor Abubakarr 'Lamtales' Kamara of Makeni City Council

  2. The Bombali District Council

  3. Honourable Ibrahim Barrie- MP Bombali District

  4. MADAM Sierra Leone- Makeni Chapter

  5. SLOIC, Makeni Chapter

  6. Proprietor Sall Junior Enterprises, Makeni City

  7. Proprietor and Manager Stanley Junior Bangura of City Media Centre (Media Junction foreman);

  8. Abdul Sow and Brothers Enterprises, Makeni

  9. Proprietor Muntagha Jalloh of MJ pharmacy and Enterprises, Makeni

 

The YBL Award recipients all expressed their admiration and gratitude to the organizers of the program. They pledged their commitments to promoting their business ideas and commitment to employment and creating further opportunity for other young people
